Frances Hill: In 1980 I was appointed by Monroe County Circuit Court Judge James Dixon to serve as the Juvenile Referee hearing all cases of Juvenile Delinquency (status acts and crimes by persons under 18) and civil child abuse and neglect cases referred to as Child In Need of Services (CHINS) cases. Concert for CASA August 19th
STAGE UP Productions and Harley Davidson of Bloomington present a “Concert for CASA”, a free event featuring Blue Earth, on August 19th from 2-5 p.m. at Harley Davidson. Blue Earth is a rhythm and blues band from the Bloomington area featuring CASA’s own Lara Weaver. The event is open to all ages and is free to the public, but donations are welcome. Pili’s Party Taco and Hoosier Mama’s Tasty Treats will be on hand starting at 2 p.m. with the concert starting at 3 p.m. If you cannot attend, but would still like to support this event, please click here.
CASA Thanks City of Bloomington Jack Hopkins Social Services Funding Committee
Monroe County CASA would like to thank the City of Bloomington Jack Hopkins Social Services Funding Committee for selecting CASA to receive the 2018 Jack Hopkins grant. With these funds, CASA has been able to upgrade existing technology and purchase new equipment for our growing team. Monroe County CASA currently has 13 staff members, over 150 volunteers, and has been assigned to advocate for over 600 children this year. Monroe County CASA is a volunteer-powered program that provides representation in juvenile court for child victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. The CASA program has been assigned to nearly 600 children in our community this year, and 2018 is only half over.
