Objectivity, tenacity, and good communication skills are some of the key characteristics of great CASA volunteers. We’ll teach you the rest during our comprehensive volunteer training program that empowers individuals to become effective advocates for children in need. Our training covers topics such as:

  • The roles and responsibilities of the CASA or CVM
  • Family dynamics of abuse and neglect
  • Child protection law
  • Interacting with children and families, case managers and other professionals that volunteers will interact with
  • Report writing (specific to CASA training only)

2023 Training Sessions:

February 24 and 27 (Child Visit Monitor training)
10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
*Applications due by February 15th

May 22-June 14 (CASA training)
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
*Applications due May 12th

September 19-October 19 (CASA training)
Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
*Applications due by Sept. 8
