Monroe County CASA is pleased to announce the third annual “Safe Homes, Safe Kids” quilt raffle. Tickets are now available, but the quilt, made by Pat Surra, will be raffled off at the Fourth Street Arts Festival on September 4th 2016.
The quilt design was created by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts and then the design was modified by Surra. The quilt is titled “Homestead” and features houses made of different fabrics in different colors that represent the uniqueness of families in real homes in a community. “To me, quilts are more than a lot of pieces of fabric sewn together. They are kind of like life – a lot of very different pieces put together in the right way can become something beautiful,” Surra said after completing this quilt for CASA. Surra hopes this quilt will raise awareness and much needed funds for CASA.
Raffle tickets are $5 each or five tickets for $20. Tickets can be purchased at Bloomington Hardware, the Monroe County CASA office or by calling 812-333-CASA.
