Objectivity, tenacity, and good communication skills are some of the key characteristics of great CASA volunteers. We’ll teach you the rest during our comprehensive volunteer training program that empowers individuals to become effective advocates for children in need. Our training covers topics such as:

  • The roles and responsibilities of the CASA or CVM
  • Family dynamics of abuse and neglect
  • Child protection law
  • Interacting with children and families, case managers and other professionals that volunteers will interact with
  • Report writing (specific to CASA training only)

2025 Training Sessions:

January 21-February 20 (CASA training)
Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
*Applications due by January 10th

June 2-24 (CASA training)
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings 5:30-8:30 p.m.
*Applications due May 23rd
*No class on 19th

September 16-October 21 (CASA training)
Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
*Applications due by Sept. 5
